After more than sleeping round the clock, we decided to take the bus out to Piazza Michelangelo, for panoramic views of the city. It was amazing to see it spread out before us. Piazza Michelangelo is a tourist magnet so we had plenty of company. We ignored the many stalls selling souvenirs and snacks and, to the sound of Andean music played by a group of musicians seemingly clad in the costume of North American indigent people, we cast our gaze beyond the people and parapets to the breathtaking sights of Florence and beyond.
This copy of David provides a helpful perch for passing pigeons!
